Dustin Washburne Week 3 Toolkit and whats on my mind.

Toolkit:
I am a scenic designer and I took this Liberatory Design Cards very literally. I kept in mind the Salten Lake project that Evelyn worked on while reading. Every time I got to as challenging statement or call to action I would put myself in a situation that called for these processes. Then I thought of the lay out about how this information was given to us. I thought It looked very plain and simple and very easy to understand. This layout is similar to how children need to be given information and reminded me that children don't see the differences between people, and they are taught. So the solution is to reteach something else. Everyone was a young person at some point. These cards are so responsive because of the color pallet and because the vocabulary used. Many reasons this visual communication style is successful is because of its simplicity. How could we not like it. We all can draw a very primal and instinctual liking to it. Some of the information in these cards I could easily use on my own, but I also found i was already incorporating a lot of this into what I already do in my day to day life. Strategies I use, are like empathizing, testing and prototyping with systems, like entertainment and problem solving. I couldn't possibly shadow a student because I am one. But I can definitely relate on different levels of a student in a different stage as me. These techniques are mainly for teachers but they are also training wheels on how to being a decent human. I would definitely like  to dive a bit further into the psychology of liberal design.

Whats on my mind:
I'm very interested in Sustainability, and new technology as well as making art more accessible for my community. As much as I want to put on plays for rich people that can afford the ticket, I would also love if after the curtain falls there are some of us that want to turn that curtain into a recycled shirt or sweater for someone who couldn't afford that ticket.
When people ask what I do I want to respond with, I help people. I've always wanted to do something bigger. Although I'm young and naive and unaware of the real political climate, that's definitely the unpopular way to live. But its me.
