She started the ted talk by talking about her love for books and how she thought as a young child that she wasn't supposed to identify with characters in these books. It seems like something white people living in america would never understand or feel.
It shocks me that her american roommate was so ignorant about the way she lives and assumed that she did not know how to use a stove.
