Assignment 1

Ideas:

  1. The ideas of these “improvisational performances” I find to be really intriguing. It’s interesting that the context surrounding a conversation can alter its content and its outcome so easily.
  2. Theme of transcending stereotypes. It feels as if this is the root goal of some of these performance pieces, and the way in which they are solving these issues is by creating a space of empathy.
  3. The idea of questioning one’s self and one’s position I think is a really powerful reflective tool for whoever is developing this kind of work.

Questions:

  1. How do you plan a performance like this? What are the logistics? How do you get both parties to be comfortable/interested in participating?
  2. How can you be sure that something like this will even work? What if when placed into the situation both parties aren’t able to use the space as intended?
  3. What kind of advice or direction is begin given to the “performers”

But the main issue is that the focus is uneven and falls heavily on the side of sending it to the south instead of distributing it evenly so farmers in all regions but mainly central and southern california have the proper amount of water to grow their crops. California is one of the leading states in the production and exporting of agriculture products due to our vast and wide scale of geological environments, but ...
